For millions of years there are two large river systems that have been aggressively carving and transporting gold from two of the world's most prolific gold-mountain chains - the Peruvian and Ecuadorian Andes. And these giant couriers of potential wealth converge above a high-energy gorge, or giant natural sluice box, called the Manseriche gorge. It's on the other side of this gorge where you'll find the Amazon Gold Sands. It's a massive 630km-plus plateau of dry and ancient meandering riverbeds – and it's potentially the largest undeveloped gold-sand-style deposit in the world.
